"A memorable DJ set is about more than making the floor move, which Wi$e accomplishes with ease. What sets this beatmaker apart is that he cares about the craft. Whether working with deep house, UK bass or trap, Wi$e never fails to transport revelers to new sonic realms."

"Mr. Wi$e is the kind of DJ who will always suprise you with his diverse mixes. He builds a musical story and the crowd enters the world he constructs for them. His passion for mixing is matched by his passion for building the local scene which he did in Beijing through organizing workshops/meet-ups."

~Biography~

MR. WI$E, or Brett Wise according to his birth certificate, is a DJ and producer. Though tale of his emergence from the womb tethered by headphones is apocryphal, Brett was fated to rise to the decks. But, oddly enough, it wouldn't happen until he moved to Beijing and through a chance meeting entered into an apprenticeship under veteran DJ and UK native Tommy Travolta. He was soon organizing parties at venues across the city. Excitement ran high and clothes came off. His contagious energy on stage and eclectic selection of tunes blazed a trail towards becoming a scene favorite in the Chinese capital.

That energy was parlayed into Swag Sound, a series of parties held in one of Beijing's most notorious clubs, School, widely known as the place for foreigners to get fisticuffed by angry Chinese. Swag Sound, along with Brett's other project, BJDJs, a bi-monthly meetup of Beijing DJs, gained popularity and garnered local and international media interest.

When heated nights in School drew to an end, Brett resurfaced with a full set of teeth and an insatiable appetite for production. In summer 2012, he returned to the deep and sometimes dirty Southern US to pursue production full-time.

MR. WI$E is currently living, producing and DJing in the Deep South, where Swag Sound continues. His forthcoming EP will be released Spring 2013. Previews can be heard on his sound cloud.
